Restoring deleted audio mixer device for windows xp on dell optiplex gx260?

Leave it up to me to delete all sound on my computer for a game, but this is what i have done and I can't enjoy a game or even fun emails from friends because my computer tells me I have no audio device. I've found out that I should download alcxwdm.sys from realtek developer but it doesn't seem to work even though when I logged on the computer i have indeed have new hardware. HELLLPPPP
