How can I get out of a detention?

Even though it was a joke it's probably somewhere in the school rules that you cannot call a teacher by his or her first name. If your teacher were to let you slide by other kids might think it's acceptable too. One detention isn't that bad just chalk it up to experience, and don't call your teacher by their first name (joking or not) unless they tell you it's ok.
