Can someone bring me up to speed on politics?

I don't pay to much attention to it because it confuses me. Bias, lies, contradictions, hypocrisy, conspiracies.....mavericks. I just find it as annoying as religion. What has been going on besides Bin Laden? I know about some of the policies that Obama put in because I was happy with the effects that came after. What are right wing and left wing? What's a teapartyier? What is going on now? And when does Duke Nukem come out?
